Overview

Dexter Player is operated by lazydevz, Inc. Dexter Player is designed with privacy as a core principle. All video processing and AI subtitle generation happen entirely on your device. We do not operate servers that receive your data.

What we collect

• Anonymous usage analytics — basic interaction events (app open, feature usage counts) with no personally identifiable information. You can opt out at any time in Settings.

What we never collect

• Video files or their contents
• Generated subtitle text
• File names or file paths
• Personal information or account data
• Browsing or watch history

AI subtitle processing

Subtitle generation uses a local AI model (faster-whisper) that runs entirely on your device. Audio data is never sent to external servers. The AI model is downloaded once and stored locally.

Data storage

All application data (settings, generated subtitles) is stored locally on your device. We have no access to this data and it is never transmitted.

Third-party services

If analytics are enabled, we use privacy-focused analytics (PostHog) that does not track individual users and does not use cookies. No data is shared with advertisers or other third parties.

Your rights (GDPR)

Since we collect minimal anonymous data, there is very little to manage. However, you have the right to:

• Opt out of analytics at any time via Settings
• Request information about what data (if any) is associated with your usage
• Request deletion of any collected data
